"Sopra il Caos (Above the Caos)" …This piece was done initially in terra cotta and then cast in bronze. The model was the same one I used in the graphite studies of the male and female nudes. He was placed in a contra-postural position which helped maximize his muscular definition. I then attempted to transform the studio pose into art that said something more. I surrounded the model with clamoring figures and a tumultuous sea. The central figure, representing Jesus, or perhaps those times when we, ourselves, mount the strength to stay above the fray, seems serene and beyond the tempest created by the individuals and circumstances that surround him.

Terra Cotta Approx. 18"x20"
Available in Bronze on marble base (not pictured)
