This category of painting or drawing is where I get to use the skills that I have developing by, as Leonardo would say, "copying from nature".  Most of the time, my pictures are adapted from scenes that I have imagined, dreamed or witnessed and later recalled.  I begin with rough sketches that I rework and hone into the image that looks believable and best portrays what my mind has conjured up.  This is my favorite type of art work, because it offers the most creativity and freedom of expression.
